We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to enhance our specialized team within the Superior County Behavioral and Psychological Center. Work Environment\n

This full-time position allows for remote work flexibility while being part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to geriatric mental health. Our unique approach combines virtual and in-person support, ensuring that our therapists can effectively engage with patients in the manner most comfortable and convenient for them. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as necessary based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments that respect and understand the specific challenges faced by older adults, including cognitive decline and chronic illness.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that adapt to the changing needs of the patient, considering their cognitive status, physical health, and social environment.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and offer individual and family therapy, specifically addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention support, offering necessary acute care during mental health emergencies, particularly when they involve elderly patients.

• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, their treatment options, and available community resources to foster understanding and compliance.
\n
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
\n
• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations to enhance collaborative practices and improve patient outcomes.

• Stay informed about advancements in geriatric psychiatry, integrating relevant research findings into therapeutic practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role serves the geriatric patient population, primarily focusing on individuals experiencing various mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and dementia. The therapist will address the unique psychological needs of older adults, providing a safe and supportive environment for healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• Possession of a master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid and current license in the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist.
\n
• At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, particularly with older adults.
\n
• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches.
\n
• Experience providing individual and family therapy tailored to the needs of the elderly.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on delivering empathetic, patient-centered care.

• Ability to engage effectively with elderly patients and their families, fostering trust and rapport.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient clinical documentation.

• An ability to work constructively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
