A multi‑entity, project‑driven organization is seeking a Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for one of its operating companies. This Controller role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys partnering closely with operations and senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

\n
• The Controller will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
\n
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analysis
\n
• Oversee multi‑entity and intercompany accounting
\n
• Support project‑level financial reviews and margin analysis
\n
• Strengthen forecasting, billing, collections, and cost controls
\n
• Produce overhead budget‑to‑actual reporting and explain variances
\n
• Support audits, tax packages, and external reporting
\n
• Supervise accounting staff and drive process improvements
\n

What You Bring

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
\n
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
\n
• Strong background in project‑based or operationally driven accounting
\n
• Expertise in WIP, job costing, percentage‑of‑completion, and multi‑entity consolidations
\n
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
\n
• Ability to collaborate effectively across operations and finance
\n

Preferred

\n
• Public accounting experience
\n
• Joint venture accounting experience
\n
• Experience supporting compliance‑focused or regulated project environments
\n
• CPA or CCIFP credential
\n

Location

Charlotte, NC | Regular in‑office presence with periodic regional travel
