Medical Billing Coordinator

We are a well-established sleep medicine practice in Indianapolis, led by a solo provider with over 30 years of experience in the field. Our office is open Mon-Thurs. We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented professional to join our small, close-knit team and help keep our billing and patient coordination running smoothly. What You'll Do: Manage medical billing and work directly with third-party billing companies to ensure claims are processed accurately and efficiently. Reach out to referring physicians' offices to request and follow up on required paperwork for insurance authorizations and claims. Serve as a friendly, reliable point of contact for patients — answering questions, explaining billing and insurance matters, and helping resolve issues. Collect and process patient payments, copays, and balances at the end of their visit. Maintain organized, accurate records and stay on top of outstanding paperwork and follow-ups. Support day-to-day office operations and collaborate closely with the provider and rest of the team. What We're Looking For: Proven experience with medical billing, including working with third-party billing companies. Comfortable and confident reaching out to physicians' offices to request documentation. Strong communication skills. Highly organized, responsible, and reliable. Solid computer skills. A team player who works well in a small-office environment. Nice to have: Experience or familiarity with sleep medicine. Knowledge of medical billing/practice management software.
