Security Officer

Rome Health is seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to join our Security team at our main campus. This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, flexibility is required to assist with coverage for vacations, call-ins, and other staffing needs. The securtiy officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property while providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Patrol hospital property and monitor surveillance systems to maintain a safe and secure environment Respond promptly and professionally to hospital emergency codes, including fire alarms, security assistance calls, and active threat situations Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic as needed Investigate incidents, security breaches, and suspicious activity Complete detailed reports documenting observations, incidents, and security activities Perform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of security equipment Provide assistance and support to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality Qualifications Valid New York State Security Guard License (Guard Card) required Basic computer skills required Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations Previous healthcare or security experience preferred, but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4 hours at a time Ability to lift up to 15 pounds About Rome Health Rome Health is a nonprofit healthcare system serving patients throughout Central New York.
