Design Engineer

Payrate: $40.00- $41.00/hr.


Position's Contributions to Work Group

• Designs, develops, builds, and implements new cooling system components, products, and technologies.
• Creates and modifies 3D cooling system/component designs using Creo tools.
• Coordinates prototype builds, testing, validation, and analysis activities.
• Collaborates extensively with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Supports supplier development activities alongside buyers and supply specialists.
• Develops functional requirements, detailed design documentation, and engineering specifications.
• Participates in cost estimation, proposal preparation, and technical reporting.
• Assists with drafting reviews, testing coordination, and product release activities.

Typical Day in the Role:

• Designing and modifying cooling components/systems using Creo.
• Collaborating with project teams to define scope, requirements, and timelines.
• Reviewing customer requirements and translating them into engineering designs.
• Supporting prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
• Participating in daily meetings with internal teams and customers.
• Coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing teams on component development.
• Creating/releasing engineering drawings and documentation through Teamcenter.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 3-4 years of relevant cooling system or mechanical design engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems technology and application methods.
• Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling, drafting, and component/system design.
• Experience with Teamcenter processes and engineering release workflows.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Ability to create 2D/3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and modular designs.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, thermal simulation, and structural analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting design/system issues and implementing engineering changes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively.
• Strong self-management and organizational skills.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $40.00- $41.00/hour . Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
