Summary

The Manufacturing Packaging Operator supports continuous packaging operations by maintaining product flow, label control, quality requirements, accurate production documentation, and equipment readiness across assigned packaging lines. The role involves monitoring automated packaging equipment and COBOT systems, supporting production changeovers and startups, performing label verification and reconciliation, collecting quality samples, and responding to minor equipment interruptions. The operator must follow SOPs, GMP requirements, safety procedures, and production documentation requirements while maintaining an organized and production-ready packaging area.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor two automated packaging lines simultaneously, as assigned.
• Monitor and support two COBOT systems during production.
• Prepare and supply shipping boxes to maintain continuous production flow.
• Place boxes into the electric case erector for box preparation.
• Monitor automatic case erectors and respond to minor equipment interruptions.
• Monitor box printers, label applicators, and box sealers on assigned lines.
• Perform label reconciliation activities for each production segment.
• Conduct first- and last-label verification using the WebScanner and confirm label acceptance.
• Perform WebScanner verification away from the packaging station when required.
• Collect required MLA quality samples from each pallet layer while maintaining proper identification and traceability.
• Prepare GR Tags for completed pallets to support Material Handling and SAP Goods Receipt activities.
• Complete DHR entries and required production documentation.
• Support DHR closure at the completion of production jobs.
• Upload and configure jobs in COLOS during startup and changeover activities.
• Perform small and large label changes during product changeovers.
• Replace box sealer tape as required.
• Support production changeovers and new job startups.
• Troubleshoot and recover minor COBOT interruptions.
• Support troubleshooting of case erectors as applicable.
• Respond to equipment alarms and production interruptions.
• Coordinate completed pallet pickup with Material Handling.
• Maintain packaging area organization, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Communicate equipment, material, labeling, and quality issues to the Packaging Lead.
• Follow applicable SOPs, GMP requirements, safety procedures, and production documentation requirements.

Required Skills

• Experience in a manufacturing, packaging, production, or similar operating environment preferred.
• Ability to monitor and operate automated packaging equipment.
• Ability to work with or monitor robotic/COBOT systems.
• Ability to perform label verification, reconciliation, and traceability activities.
• Ability to accurately complete production records and documentation.
• Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment interruptions and respond appropriately to alarms.
• Ability to support equipment changeovers and production startups.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly for labeling, documentation, and product quality.
• Ability to maintain accurate identification and traceability of quality samples.
• Ability to communicate equipment, material, labeling, and quality issues clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining continuous product flow.
• Ability to coordinate with Packaging Leads and Material Handling personnel.
• Ability to maintain an organized, clean, and production-ready work area.
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift as assigned.
