Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Broward Physical Therapy, your key responsibilities will include:

• Directing and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities and relieving pain, while improving muscle function and maintaining clients' maximum performance capabilities.
• Leading a team of physical therapy assistants to ensure effective execution of care plans and quality patient support.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional abilities using a variety of assessments related to muscle, nerve, joint, and overall functional capabilities.
• Assessing home environments to facilitate effective rehabilitation and offering recommendations that promote client independence.
• Providing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and interventions involving physical agents while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, with ongoing evaluation of their effectiveness in coordination with the treating physician.
• Documenting clinical records meticulously, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient histories.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to treatment planning and case evaluations, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Instructing clients and their families on proper use and care of physical therapy devices, as well as educational resources to reinforce the rehabilitation process.
• Completing timely documentation and clinical orders, adhering to branch policies and compliance standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid PT license in good standing within the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey treatment plans and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

Candidates who possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting will be given preference. Experience in an outpatient environment or with acute care home health is beneficial, providing a strong foundation for this role.
