These positions are essential for supporting 6th-12th grade students in a resource program focused on functional life skills, community-based instruction, and academic growth. In addition, the district is searching for a Special Education Teacher to lead the 7th grade caseload, offering tailored support and individualized education plans for students with diverse needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Michigan or eligible for transfer)
• Experience in resource or functional skills classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and goal-setting
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt lessons and supports for a range of learning abilities

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction for students in 6th-12th grade resource settings
• Support students in developing functional life skills and participating in community instruction
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to meet student needs
• Oversee and manage IEPs, compliance, data collection, and student progress reporting
• For the 7th grade position, manage a dedicated caseload and foster a supportive learning atmosphere
