Position Overview Title: Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, NJMS Location: Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), Newark, NJ, BHSB 183 South Orange Avenue, Newark, NJ 07103 Employment Type: Full Time Posting Number: 22FA0235 Open Date: 01/15/2026 Close Date: 12/01/2027 Compensation Minimum of $260,000 for academic year appointments. Final salary offer may be determined by factors including qualifications, experience, expertise, and availability of department or grant funds. Participate in overnight on‑call rotating faculty schedule and in weekend coverage at University Hospital. Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and peer review activities. Teach and evaluate medical students, psychiatry residents, fellows, allied health professional fellows, students, and trainees in both clinical activities at University Hospital and in didactic lecture and small group settings. Pursue scholarly activities within the Department of Psychiatry and collaborate with other departments at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Complete billing, required training, time studies, and other required hospital‑related or Rutgers‑related surveys in accordance with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and University Hospital policies, on a timely basis. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair. Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent in Psychiatry. Certifications and licenses required as specified by state and institutional requirements.
