Associate Attorney - Litigation

Civil Litigation Attorney
Our client is an AV-rated civil litigation firm with a 40-year history in Sacramento, is seeking a newly licensed attorney to work directly under the direction of a senior partner defending public entities in civil litigation matters.
This position is designed for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience who is looking for hands-on training and guidance to develop into a skilled litigator. The supervising attorney handles all aspects of civil litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, pleadings, discovery, law and motion, trials, and appeals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze cases and develop litigation strategies.
- Research and handle unique and complex legal issues.
- Draft and respond to written discovery.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Draft and argue significant law and motion matters, including dispositive motions.
- Assist with mediations and arbitrations.
- Participate in trial preparation.
- Handle various aspects of civil litigation under the guidance of senior attorneys.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of litigation experience.
- California State Bar License required.
- Doctorate degree required.
- Strong interest in developing litigation skills through hands-on experience.
- Ability to handle challenging legal work and actively participate in the litigation process.
