The vision of the TraCS Institute is to transform how clinical and translational science is being performed, here at UNC, throughout the State and into the CTSA national community. The Research Coordination and Management Unit (RCMU) is a centralized research support unit of NC TraCS that provides short‑term study management and start‑up services to UNC Investigators. Research coordinators within the unit support a variety of clinical research projects and investigators across UNC, working closely with the RCMU team and other TraCS colleagues to support the mission of the RCMU and NC TraCS. Our mission is to improve the health and well‑being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve, by providing leadership and excellence in patient care, education, and research. Position Summary This position will serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator Intern within the RCMU. The intern will receive an extensive introduction to the fundamental skills required for a career as a research coordinator, including principles and application of good clinical practice and research regulations. The intern will work alongside RCMU staff and clients to assist with programmatic and operational support, and direct study support across various patient populations. Key duties include recruiting, consenting, and enrolling participants to research studies; performing study procedures; and collecting data per study protocols. Upon completion of the 9–12 month position, the intern will have gained the requisite skills and experience to competitively seek a full‑time research coordinator position. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
