Key Responsibilities\n

As an LMFT, you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions and behavioral support to your clients. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting individual in-home therapy sessions or facilitating group therapy at our outpatient clinic, adapting approaches to meet unique client needs.

• Implementing strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors by teaching anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills in a safe environment.
\n
• Collaborating with caregivers to enhance decision-making skills and address behavioral difficulties that arise in the home setting.
\n
• Working closely with a team of professionals to develop treatment plans and recommendations tailored for each child's needs.
\n
• Maintaining accurate records by submitting necessary documentation such as treatment plans and progress notes within specified timeframes.
\n
• Participating actively in regular team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment efficacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 with various developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your expertise will help bridge gaps in communication and behavior, paving the way for better outcomes not only for the young individuals you work with but also for their families. Engaging with this diverse group requires not only clinical skills but also cultural competence, particularly for bilingual therapists who can communicate in Spanish or Portuguese.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is mandatory.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Maryland.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (between 4-7 PM) is essential, with weekend availability considered an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for commuting to client locations.

• All candidates must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting before employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions to children and adolescents is highly desirable.

• Prior work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a significant plus.
