Safety Manager

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all health and safety programs across construction projects. This individual ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client-specific safety requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture. The Safety Manager works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and ensure every employee returns home safely each day. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards. Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage events; determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, incident reports, and required documentation. Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements. Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Pre-Task Plans. Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to identify and mitigate project risks. Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct emergency drills. Track safety metrics, leading indicators, and KPIs, preparing reports for executive leadership. Assist with workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs. Perform equipment and PPE inspections to ensure compliance and proper usage. Coordinate third-party safety inspections and client safety audits. Stay current with changes to OSHA regulations and industry best practices. Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and continuous education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience (commercial, multifamily, industrial, healthcare, data center, or heavy civil experience preferred). Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses. Ability to read construction drawings and understand project sequencing. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software. Ability to travel between project sites as required.
