Senior Engineer - Civil Structural

Senior Civil Structural Engineer Design and detail mat and pier type foundations for substation structures. Design substation structures ranging from simple equipment supports to overhead line towers, applying client requirements and company quality control and assurance practices. Perform substation designs as necessary, including general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, grading and fence plans, foundation plans and details, substation rigid bus arrangements, structure details, and bills of material. Responsibilities Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects. Work with renewable energy developers and other clients on schedules and cost estimates. Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE. Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports. Perform the company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes. Establish and maintain professional relationships with external business partners; present information and respond to client questions. Direct and participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data. Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Master’s in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. 7+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations. Proficient with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Experience in transmission, distribution and generating stations is a plus. Must have strong analytical and computer skills; able to identify necessary software to complete required design work. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
