Director of Recruitment

Northwestern Mutual’s Winston-Salem District Office is looking for a motivated, highly organized Recruiter to lead our full-cycle recruiting efforts. In partnership with office leadership, this individual will play an important role in the continued growth of our office by identifying and attracting talented individuals for both full-time Financial Representative opportunities and our internship program . What You’ll Do Recruiting & Candidate Experience Develop and execute recruiting strategies to achieve annual full-time and intern recruiting goals. Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake, referrals, networking, community involvement, and other sourcing channels. Screen and conduct first-round interviews with prospective candidates. Build strong relationships with candidates and manage communication throughout the recruiting and selection process. Coordinate next steps and interviews with office leadership. Develop referral pipelines through Financial Representatives, office leadership, alumni, community partners, and other centers of influence. Represent Northwestern Mutual at networking events, community organizations, career fairs, and campus activities. Coordinate recruiting marketing initiatives, including social media, events, presentations, and outreach efforts. Collaborate with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads, ideas, and best practices. Recruiting Operations & Analytics Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in Northwestern Mutual recruiting systems, including NM Talent. Track recruiting activity, pipeline progress, and key conversion ratios. Provide weekly recruiting updates and pipeline metrics to office leadership. Prepare recruiting dashboards and reports for leadership meetings. Use recruiting data and activity ratios to identify opportunities for improvement. Support contracting, licensing, and onboarding coordination as needed. What Success Looks Like The Recruiter will be accountable for building and maintaining a consistent pipeline of high-quality candidates that supports the long-term growth of the Winston-Salem office. Annual performance expectations include: Minimum of 8 contracted full-time recruits annually , with goals reviewed each year based on office growth objectives. Minimum of 8 interns annually across our fall, spring, and summer internship programs. Consistent achievement of activity expectations related to candidate outreach, interviews, referrals, networking, and community engagement. Strong candidate follow-up and disciplined management of the recruiting pipeline. What We’re Looking For Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Confidence representing Northwestern Mutual within the local community. Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of recruiting, sales, business development, or other relationship-driven professional experience preferred. Experience with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Handshake preferred. An established personal or professional network and involvement in the community are a plus. Why Join Our Team?
