Social Work Supervisor II

Description: The person in this position is responsible for providing direct supervision to Child Care and Work First staff and the Community Development Specialist within the Child Welfare Division. The responsibilities include determining eligibility for Child Care and Work First services through NCFast, consulting and coordinating employment services activities, planning, organizing, training, coaching, and monitoring the performance of the unit, performing second party reviews of cases and ensuring compliance with state policy and performance measures. Additional related job duties that support the success of the Child Welfare Division and the assigned programs are also performed. Requirements: Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include possession of a driver's license valid in the state of N.C. Note: In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter, or Emergency Operations Center. Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $52,021 - $63,459. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees' Retirement System.
