Bookkeeper

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and wants to work onsite in our Irvine office. If you enjoy owning accurate financial records, talking directly with clients, and seeing the direct impact of your work through commission upside, this role is built for you. What You’ll Do Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile bank and credit card statements, journal entries, and other financial data to produce accurate profit & loss statements and balance sheets Prepare clean, error-free accounting reports and present results and recommendations to management Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements in efficiency and spending Review and suggest modifications to accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls Review client documents for completeness and accuracy while following established protocols Advise clients on potential liabilities and compliance matters Work directly with clients, make outbound phone calls, and maintain an organized pipeline of active cases Meet established daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics (KPIs) Perform other related duties as assigned What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (or equivalent work experience) Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, a CPA firm, and/or a tax resolution office Working knowledge of GAAP and applicable federal and state tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard office technology (including RingCentral or similar platforms) Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical tax and accounting concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients Demonstrated commitment to staying current with changes in tax law and accounting standards Additional Skills That Stand Out Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills (empathy, self-awareness, emotional regulation) Service-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport quickly High professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality Solid understanding of IRS tax procedures, return processing, personal and business compliance, and identity theft issues This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be close to the work, close to the clients, and close to the results.
