Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Commercial general contracting company seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer that will be an integral member of the Project Management team and will be responsible for assisting with the Construction/Project Management for our project locations in and around Chicago. They will be responsible for tracking and managing schedules, budgets, data collection, and client correspondence for fast track projects to ensure project deadlines and client requests are met in a timely manner. This position will require a high level of detail and a passion for construction.

Job Responsibilities:

\n

· Assist Project Team with preparation of bid documentation, as necessary.

\n

· Plot and/or order and distribute plans to Project Team.

\n

· Prepare Subcontractor Contracts for Project Team review; issue and track execution of Subcontracts.

\n

· Assist Project Team in setting up new job profiles/budgets.

\n

· Assist Project Team in preparing Subcontractor Lists.

\n

· Assist Project Team in setting up Submittal Logs, Shop Drawings, RFIs, and Change Order Requests.

\n

· Track insurance, contracts, and bond information, as necessary.

\n

· Assist Project Team in obtaining documents and preparing Close-Outs.

\n

· Assist Project Team in tracking Subcontract / Vendor invoicing.

\n

· Coordinate project meetings and taking Meeting Minutes.

\n

· Assist with the evaluation and validation of change orders.

\n

· Assist in development and maintaining Master Project Schedule and 2/3 week look-ahead schedule(s).

\n

· Assist with development of takeoffs utilizing estimating software.

\n

· Assist with preparation of weekly reports.

\n

· Assist with preparation of project punch-list and distribution/tracking to ensure completion.

\n

· Coordinate permit process with local municipality and subcontractor documentation.

\n

· Attend & coordinate weekly meetings as needed (safety, owner, progress, close-out, etc.).

\n

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

\n

· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering preferred, or equivalent years’ experience in Construction-related field.

\n

· Team oriented and ability to work independently.

\n

· Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project a plus.

\n

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient.

\n

· Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

\n

· Passion or willingness to learn about Construction.
