Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantHarmony Senior Services, a certified Great Place To Work and one the country's fastest growing companies in the luxury senior living industry, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join the Finance team at its corporate office in beautiful Roanoke, VA.The Staff Accountant provides accounting support functions to senior living communities in the Harmony Senior Services portfolio (independent living, assisting living, and memory care). This role requires a high attention to detail and the ability to work closely with community operators regarding their financial activities.Key Roles/Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with accounting standards.Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for reconciliation.Interface with operators, vendors and other outside sources, providing them with a high level of timely, accurate serviceReview and approve entries made by the community personnel.Produce timely and accurate reports as required (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & annually)Reconcile bank statements for all communities in a timely and accurate matterAnalyze financial data and variances, providing explanations to management.Maintain accounting systems and records.Required Skills/Abilities:Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple communities, prioritize and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members.Education/Experience:Accounting experience with a property management company or multiple site company environment highly desiredUndergraduate degree in accounting or closely related field strongly preferredProficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)Prior experience with Yardi highly preferredWhy Should You Apply?Excellent team support, job satisfaction, and opportunity for growthCulture of empowerment and entrepreneurshipCompetitive salary and benefits packageWhy Harmony?401k + Fulltime & Part-time Benefits PackagesTraining, Development & Career LadderingGreat work-life balanceFlexible Scheduling
