Overview Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position POSITION AVAILABLE: One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027. Duties of the Position The Department of Teacher Education seeks part-time lecturers to teach courses which may be scheduled at the Hayward campus, the Concord Center, and/or online. Most courses in the Department of Teacher Education at CSU, East Bay are held evenings and weekends. Assignments include courses in the multiple subject credential program, single subject credential program (including methods courses), early childhood education (undergraduate minor and masters), curriculum masters, reading masters, and educational technology leadership masters. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California. Rank and Salary Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. The salary ranges for the Lecturer-Academic Year classification are listed below: Lecturer AY (Range 2): $5,507 - $6,677 Lecturer AY (Range 3): $6,221 - $13,224 Lecturer AY (Range 4): $6,825 - $14,523 Lecturer AY (Range 5): $8,593 - $15,211 The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Dates of Appointment Fall Semester Start & End dates: 08/17/26 – 12/21/26 Spring Semester Start & End dates: 01/19/27 – 05/21/27 Qualifications Master\'s degree in education or related field. Teaching experience in K-12 setting; advanced knowledge relative to course assignment; understanding of how adults learn; demonstrated ability to teach, and evaluate candidates from diverse educational, cultural, and work backgrounds; demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team as well as to make independent judgments; good written and oral communications skills; commitment to personal and professional lifelong learning; and willingness to be available and accessible to candidates.
