Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, from contract execution through cash collection. In this role, you will lead ASC 606 revenue recognition, manage the monthly revenue close, oversee deferred revenue and capitalized contract costs, and serve as the primary liaison for revenue-related external audit inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Revenue Accounting: Analyze customer contracts, amendments, and expansions to evaluate performance obligations, transaction pricing, variable consideration, and standalone selling price (SSP); prepare comprehensive technical accounting memos.

Month-End Close & Reporting: Manage month-end revenue accounting processes, including deferred revenue, contract asset schedules, variance/flux analyses, general ledger reconciliations, and ARR-to-recognized revenue reconciliations.

Deferred Contract Costs: Oversee commission capitalization and amortization schedules in compliance with ASC 340-40.

Order-to-Cash & Data Integrity: Partner with Sales Operations and Finance to maintain data accuracy across CRM and billing systems, ensuring effective order-to-cash internal controls.

Accounts Receivable Management: Direct third-party AR resources to ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, dispute resolution, and proper credit memo handling.

Audit Management: Lead external audit preparation for the revenue cycle, coordinating PBC deliverables, walkthroughs, disclosures, and technical position reviews.

Process & Policy Development: Establish and refine scalable revenue accounting policies, documentation, and operational workflows.

Essential Qualifications:

• Active CPA license required.
• 6+ years of total accounting experience, including at least 3 years in hands-on SaaS or software revenue recognition.
• Advanced knowledge and application of ASC 606 regarding multi-element allocations, usage-based models, enterprise agreements, contract modifications, and variable consideration.
• Hands-on experience with billing platforms and revenue subledgers integrated with CRM systems.
• Track record of managing external revenue audits, public readiness initiatives, or first-time audit processes.
• Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, or cross-border invoicing operations.
• Strong technical writing skills with demonstrated ability to defend accounting positions to audit teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background combining public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and high-growth technology experience.
• Familiarity with consumption- or usage-based pricing structures.
• Strong analytical proficiency working with large, complex datasets.
