Business Development Intern

LUPFR Entertainment is an experience company bringing people together through distinctive venues, curated music, and thoughtfully produced events. Operating across Los Angeles and San Francisco, we create yacht experiences, private celebrations, corporate gatherings, college events, and brand activations. We work with businesses, brands, clubs, and organizations to bring event ideas to life—and connect brand partners with opportunities to engage audiences through our experiences. THE ROLE We’re looking for a Business Development Intern to help grow LUPFR through event bookings, brand sponsorships, and strategic partnerships . You’ll work directly with the founder to identify opportunities, build relationships, and help turn initial conversations into signed deals. Our prospective clients and partners include companies, consumer brands, country clubs, yacht clubs, residential communities, nonprofits, and college organizations—including fraternities and sororities. An opportunity could range from booking a company celebration or fraternity formal to securing a brand sponsorship for an upcoming LUPFR event. You won’t simply make an introduction and hand it off. For the opportunities you work on, you’ll be involved throughout the process: client and sponsor conversations, internal strategy discussions, event and partnership concepts, proposals, budgets, pricing, negotiations, and closing. LUPFR leads final pricing, contracts, planning, and execution. Your focus is on creating opportunities and developing relationships—not selling individual event tickets or producing events on your own. WHAT YOU'LL DO Identify new business: Research prospective event clients and brand sponsors, using targeted outreach, networking, and existing relationships to uncover opportunities. Build relationships: Connect with business owners, marketing teams, event planners, club managers, organization leaders, and other decision-makers. Learn about their event needs, marketing goals, budgets, and timelines. Participate from introduction to closing: Join client and sponsor calls, contribute to internal discussions, and help develop event proposals, sponsorship packages, and partnership ideas alongside the founder. Keep opportunities moving: Coordinate meetings, support follow-ups, track conversations and next steps, and help develop repeat bookings and ongoing sponsor relationships. WHO YOU ARE You’re personable, proactive, and interested in business development, sales, marketing, hospitality, or entrepreneurship. You’re comfortable reaching out to new people, asking thoughtful questions, and following through. Strong communication and organization matter more than previous sales experience. Connections to businesses, brands, clubs, professional communities, or campus organizations are a plus—but you should also be excited to build relationships beyond your existing network. College students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply. COMPENSATION Earn performance-based commissions on successful event bookings and paid brand sponsorships you help secure, with opportunities to advance to higher commission tiers as you generate more business and build a track record of results.
