Social Media Coordinator

About Us: Uptown Cheapskate is a modern resale and thrift store where customers can buy and sell stylish, gently used clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories from the brands they already know and love! We combine the value and sustainability of secondhand shopping with a more curated, clean, elevated retail experience. Role Overview: As a Social Media Coordinator at Uptown Cheapskate, you will be responsible for creating engaging content that showcases our unique resale experience and connects with our community. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the founder to develop a dynamic social media strategy that highlights both our store and neighboring businesses. You’ll have the flexibility to capture authentic moments that bring our mission and brand to life. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation: Visit our Hackensack, NJ store approximately once a week for 1-2 hours of content filming. Capture engaging B-roll throughout the store, including new inventory, shopping moments, behind-the-scenes footage, employees, trends, and store activity. Identify trending audio, formats, hooks, memes, and social trends that align with our brand. Post approximately 3 Instagram Reels/TikToks per week and daily engaging stories on Instagram. Engage with our community by responding to comments and interactions on social media platforms for approximately 15 minutes each day. Qualifications: You're a great fit if you have the following skills. Experience with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok. Strong video editing skills to create polished, engaging short-form content. Excellent written communication skills for crafting captions and engaging with our audience. Ability to identify and adapt to social media trends that resonate with our brand value. Creative mindset with a passion for fashion and community engagement. Bonus If You: Have prior experience in a retail environment, particularly in fashion resale. Are familiar with editing tools to create fun and engaging content. Employment Type & Availability: This position is Part-Time Location: 8-10 hours a week. This position is hybrid: remote and on-site in Hackensack, New Jersey 1x week for 1-2 hours.
