Job Overview A law firm seeks a senior attorney specializing in compensation and benefits to join their team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans, including ERISA compliance and related regulatory matters. Duties Advise on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans. Ensure ERISA compliance and manage plan design and administration. Consult on benefit plan issues in mergers and acquisitions. Draft plan documents and disclosures. Conduct compliance testing and manage IRS and Department of Labor filings. Handle audits and correction matters. Requirements Minimum of 6 years of relevant legal experience. Experience with ESOP transactions and ERISA plan asset rules is a plus. Excellent academic credentials. Superior writing, oral communication, and analytical skills. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
