Machine Shop Foreman

Machine Shop Foreman Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations, lead CNC machine shop personnel, and support production quality, scheduling, setup, and machining work. This is a direct hire, onsite opportunity on a first shift schedule. This role is best suited for an experienced machinist who has moved into shop leadership but can still be hands-on with CNC and manual machining, setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and drawing interpretation. Salary: 70-80K Schedule Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Responsibilities Oversee daily operations within a CNC machine shop environment Lead, direct, and support machinists and shop personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards Provide hands-on machining support as needed, including setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and process improvement Work with CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a production manufacturing environment Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances, and machining specifications Support machine setup, tooling selection, program review, and first-piece inspection activity Use knowledge of G and M codes to assist with programming review, edits, troubleshooting, and machine efficiency Monitor workflow, assign work, and help resolve production issues on the shop floor Maintain focus on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement Train, coach, and mentor machinists to improve performance, consistency, and technical skill Qualifications At least 10 years of hands-on machinist experience required 5 to 10 years of experience managing or leading machine shop personnel required Strong CNC machining background required Experience with CNC and manual mills, lathes, tooling, setup, and machining processes Strong understanding of G and M codes required Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Familiarity with Okuma, Mori Seiki, Kitamura, and Haas equipment preferred Experience supporting machine troubleshooting, process improvements, and shop-floor problem solving Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
