Office Technician (In-Service Training)

Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the In-Service Training (IST) Lieutenant and Sergeant.  The Office Technician (Typing) ensures that the general office duties are completed and maintained in a professional manner. Maintain the In-Service Training files and sort and file all materials which are generated throughout the institution to IST. Assist in new employee orientation and prepare handouts for IST classes. When necessary, will collect incarcerated person grievances (602’s) from the MSF and deliver them to the Grievance/Appeals Office. Will Collect IST paperwork in the Wardens Office, Mailroom, and IST drop box located in the East Entrance building and outside the IST Office. Will coordinate and work together with the other IST Office Technician to ensure all duties are completed. Will complete any other Office Technician duties assigned to them by the IST Manager or Assistant IST Manager. Will ensure that all 844’s and paperwork needed for the classrooms are completed and will communicate with the instructors to ensure class attendee accountability is completed and assists in locating any unaccounted staff.  See attached Duty Statement.

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
