Senior Principal Advanced Systems Leader (Onsite)

What You Will Do Create the vision and secure funding for new concepts. Lead multiple, multi‑million‑dollar R&D and transition programs. Plan and execute field tests on land or at sea. Regularly meet or exceed the metrics of challenging R&D programs. Handle complex technical challenges while helping researchers focus on the technical work and the big picture of their efforts. Travel to partner, customer, and corporate sites. Qualifications You Must Have Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance required prior to start date. Fluent in at least one commonly used programming language such as Python, MATLAB, C, or C++. Experience forming and leading teams of scientists and engineers through the full lifecycle of technology development. 10+ years of experience related to physical sciences, mechanical engineering, sensing and signal processing, acoustics, or a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications PhD in physical sciences or engineering. Successful capture of new R&D contracts from U.S. Government customers such as DARPA, ONR, or U.S. Navy PMOs. Previous experience working within research and development engineering organizations. Location & Compensation Location: Middletown, RI. Position is onsite at the company headquarters.
