Shift:                1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Work Arrangement: Field/On-Site
Travel:             Approximately 10–20% throughout the U.S. and Canada

Job Summary

The Field Operations Technician I – Product Engineering Support will support field operations, product engineering, and testing activities under the guidance of field operations leadership.

The role focuses on equipment troubleshooting, technical diagnostics, field data collection, system testing, equipment installation, preventive maintenance, and pilot projects. The technician will also support the development and improvement of machine learning models used for autonomous vehicles by collecting field data and providing actionable feedback to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support successful execution of field operations, testing, and pilot projects.
• Collect field data to support the development and improvement of machine learning models for autonomous vehicles.
• Provide actionable technical feedback to product development and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and technical systems.
• Perform emergency repairs and preventive maintenance inspections.
• Support technical troubleshooting and identify, analyze, and resolve equipment and experiment-related issues.
• Assist with installation of complex systems and conduct equipment inspections under guidance.
• Develop testing standards and procedures under the direction of engineering professionals.
• Support equipment assembly, logistics, system testing, and basic maintenance activities.
• Implement approved improvements and provide feedback through established change-management processes.
• Perform initial fault isolation and recommend solutions for approval by senior technical personnel.
• Prioritize workflow while meeting required quality, safety, and timeline standards.
• Follow established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Product & Technical Support

• Provide technical support to PV&V field teams, channel partners, and customers on complex product issues.
• Take a lead role in troubleshooting complex field problems using advanced diagnostic skills, systems, and technical resources.
• Analyze data from multiple sources and work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues with new products.
• Develop or author technical solutions and bulletins for complex problems when required.
• Assist with gathering parts needed for production-intent updates.
• Support Product Support, Engineering, and Quality Improvement teams as a technical resource.
• Travel to field locations to support complex problem resolution or update machines with experimental/production -intent parts.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of diesel engine diagnostics.
• Strong electrical diagnostic background is required.
• Knowledge of electrical and aftertreatment systems.
• Knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical equipment and systems.
• Ability to analyze technical data and identify equipment issues.
• Strong technical aptitude for proprietary diagnostic tools and applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong verbal communication and technical support skills.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 2-year degree in one of the following or a related field: Electrical Engineering Technology, Diesel Power Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Technology Management
• Equivalent combination of applicable technical skills and work experience may be considered.
• Experience with straightforward technical procedures or systems.
• Entry-level candidates from an Agricultural Technology school or similar technical program may be considered at an appropriate market rate.

Preferred / Additional Experience

• Experience providing technical support to field teams, dealers/channel partners, or customers.
• Experience troubleshooting complex machinery or agricultural equipment.
• Experience with field testing, product validation, or engineering support.
• Familiarity with proprietary diagnostic software and equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Product Support, and field teams.

Work Environment & Travel

• Primarily supports field operations, equipment testing, and product engineering activities.
• Periodic travel required throughout the U.S. and Canada, approximately 10–20%.
• May work with experimental or production-intent equipment and parts.
• Must follow applicable safety procedures and established technical processes.
