Details ICU setting within a hospital, part of a facility that also includes a heart hospital Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00) Option of 36 or 48 hours per week Patient ratio of 1:2 Weekend shifts required May float to Med-Surg, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU, capped at 4 patients maximum while floating Travelers receive brief orientation when floating to like units Requirements Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS Preferred certification: BLS Epic charting experience preferred Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs Respiratory skills required: chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning Renal skills required: management of chronic/acute renal failure Medication management skills required: continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Neurological skills preferred: EVD management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, and post neurosurgery management GI surgery experience required Skills required in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required IV insulin protocol experience required Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler No travel pairs or groups accepted RTO requests are limited, with no more than 3-4 days automatically approved and none during the first week of orientation American Traveler Job ID P-746903.
