Patient Access Representative

Pay Range: $21- $24/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Interview patients and collect accurate demographic and insurance information
• Enter and update patient information in the computer system
• Establish and maintain patient records, including demographic, financial, and insurance allocation information
• Identify and enter appropriate insurance codes
• Obtain required patient consents and authorizations
• Verify and process insurance and financial information accurately
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide professional customer service
• Coordinate with department scheduling staff to meet patient scheduling needs
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient information
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Must have; Patient Registration / Patient Admitting
• Insurance Verification & Authorization
• EMR/EHR & Data Entry
• Customer Service & Communication
• 1-2 years of registration, admitting, or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
