Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of client's mental health status, focusing on the severity and frequency of mood disorder symptoms.

• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that reflect their goals, values, and preferences.

• Implement evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for effective treatment outcomes.

• Provide education and support about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care techniques to clients and their families.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans based on responses to therapy.
\n
• Work closely with psychiatrists and medical professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated care for clients.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in treating mood disorders to enhance therapeutic approaches.

• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in weekly team meetings and case consultations to foster a learning environment and exchange valuable insights.

• Advocate for clients, addressing their mental health needs and helping to combat stigma associated with mental illness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will work primarily with clients experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our client base is diverse, including individuals from various socio-economic backgrounds, vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Your role as an LMFT will be crucial in providing hands-on support and therapy tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A minimum of a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and foster therapeutic alliances with clients.

• Demonstrated empathy, nonjudgmental attitude, and the ability to create a safe therapeutic environment for clients.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle caseloads and administrative tasks.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients facing mood disorders in community health settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic health records and teletherapy platforms.

• Experience in crisis intervention and strategies for managing severe psychological distress.
