ED Technician-24 hrs/wk, Evening

Department/Unit: Emergency Department — Work Shift: Evening (United States of America) — Salary Range: $43,599.00 - $56,679.00 Emergency department technicians provide specialized assistance to nurses and physicians by administering tests, diagnostic exams, and therapeutic procedures. ED technicians interact with acutely ill and unstable patients. Responsibilities Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens Assists physicians and nurses providing technical support for patient care Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate supervisor/staff member Assists with the transport of patients to other departments Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems Obtains 12-lead EKGs, discontinues peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks Assists with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes Assists with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings Measures and fits crutches and canes and instructs patients on proper use Benefits Excellent health care coverage with no copay at Albany Medical Center providers A wide array of services and programs to support emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing Albany Med Health System is an equal opportunity employer.
