Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Medical Surgical / Solid Organ Transplant Unit)

Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 13 or 26 Week Contract Options | 36 or 48 Hour Weekly Options Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical surgical, telemetry, and progressive care to adult pre- and post-transplant patients (liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal) as well as intestinal rehabilitation patients on a 36-bed unit
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6 on nights, with the possibility of 1:7 depending on staffing needs
• Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
• Float within scope to various units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, specifically in a large, urban hospital setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with IV drip administration
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred
• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (considered in lieu of first-timer restriction)
