PHP Software Engineer
\nDepartment: Development
\nType: 100% Remote USA (Client is Atlanta Based - EST)
\nJob Level: Intermediate
\nFULL TIME
\n \nJOB DESCRIPTION:
\nAs a PHP Software Engineer, your focus will be on developing server-side logic, defining and maintaining the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the application's front end. You will integrate front-end web elements built by the Front-End team and be part of a full-stack, creative team responsible for all aspects of software development, from specification review and assessment through developing, code review, launching, and maintaining internal and external products.
\n \nAs a PHP Software Engineer you would:
\nBuild efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
\nSolve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
\nWork closely with your team in completing projects
\nTroubleshoot and fix any issues relating to our PHP applications
\nDevelop and test software for enterprise and/or client applications
\nRefactor, optimize, and improve existing codebases for maintenance and scale
\nIntegration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
\nConvey effectively the status of task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules
\nProvide insights and improvements related to technical and process issues
\nDocument developed features and architecture
\n \nYou have:
\nBS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
\nHigh proficiency working in PHP
\nAt least one year of experience with Laravel
\nProficiency working with MySQL or MariaDB
\nProficiency working within a Linux environment
\nFamiliarity with version control software, such as Git
\nFamiliarity with agentic code generation using frontier AI models
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills
\nAble to explain complex technical problems to both technical and non-technical people
\n \nBonus Points For :
\nExperience with Agile software principles
\nExperience using project management software, such as Jira Software
\nExperience with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
\nExperience with automated testing, including unit testing and CI/CD pipelines
