Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking Material Handler to join our team.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Material Handler Look Like?

• Basic understanding of shop/yard layout and how to stage and locate materials.
• Safely loading, unloading and transfer / movement of material.
• Perform assigned activities according to shop requirements, Company procedures and as directed by Supervisor.
• Ensure the material is properly staged and stored in designated locations.
• Makes sure that items are properly tagged and labeled.
• Knowledge of how to use and safely operate material handling equipment, i.e. pallet jack and crane (training required).
• May operate a forklift to transport stored material into production areas.
• Complies with all HSE regulations and requirements.
• Follow all health safety procedure and regulations as outlined by the Company.
• Other assigned duties

Skills (to Pay the Bills)

• 2 to 3+ years of experience in similar or related position.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Company Procedures and Policies.
• Exposure to possible shop hazards including but not limited to welding fumes, heat, flash burns, skin burns, high noise level and eye injuries from welding arc and grinders. Spends a large percentage of the time in yard, warehouse, and shop.
• Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the course for the shift.
• Physically able to lift up to 45 pounds.

Work Schedule

Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
