Work Environment\n

This position offers a flexible remote work environment, enabling you to conduct sessions via teletherapy while maintaining the essential interpersonal connections that are crucial for effective mental health counseling. While the majority of your work will be conducted remotely, you may also collaborate with team members in our outpatient office in Santa Rosa. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique challenges and needs facing older adults.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that consider cognitive changes, physical health, and social factors, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual counseling and family therapy, utilizing advanced techniques suited for geriatric clients.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes.

• Offer crisis intervention services to elderly patients experiencing acute mental health challenges or emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and relevant community resources to foster empowerment and knowledge.

• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with all legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of your role will be serving the geriatric population, a group that commonly faces a range of psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, dementia-related issues, and significant life adjustments. You will provide targeted support to enhance their coping strategies, emotional health, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.

• Current and valid licensure in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct individual and family therapy sessions effectively with older adults.
\n
• Strong expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, along with a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology applications relevant to mental health practice.

• A collaborative spirit, capable of working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve comprehensive care delivery.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working with older adults in a mental health setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
