Step into a dynamic educational environment as a Middle School LBS1 Special Education Teacher. In this full-time, contract position, you'll play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, guiding them toward academic and personal growth. This role centers on delivering individualized, standards-based instruction and fostering inclusive practices through strong collaboration with colleagues and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement instruction tailored to IEP goals, accommodations, and state standards
• Maintain accurate and timely special education compliance documentation
• Track student progress, leveraging data to adapt instructional strategies and interventions
• Work closely with general education teachers and related service providers to facilitate inclusion and optimize student achievement
• Actively participate in IEP meetings, engaging families in supportive and transparent communication
• Foster a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment
• Address students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and broader district initiatives
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by administration

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (EL endorsement preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience teaching at the middle school level preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues
• Prior experience working with diverse learners preferred
