About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: North Carolina or Compact License in Hand Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience: 1:2 - Charting system experience preferred - Community hospital experience preferred - LTAC experience preferred - Trauma Level I and II experience preferred - Travel experience required Description: Targeted start dates are available. Interviews will be conducted via phone call. Orientation hours are required. Candidates must have certifications in hand at the time of application. Skills required include end-tidal CO2 monitoring, managing ports, and administration of blood products. Experience with acute and chronic renal failure is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with administration of chemotherapy and anti-seizure medications. Experience in ventilator management and pediatric CVICU is beneficial. Care of ventilated patients, central line management, and infection control skills are essential. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency with arterial line management and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with various patient population diagnoses, including complex congenital heart conditions, is required. Candidates will work with interdisciplinary support teams. Attendance will be monitored, and excessive absenteeism may impact contract continuation. A supervisory reference within the last year is required. Modules related to the role will be completed during the first week. This position may require floating to other units as necessary.
