This individual will review, analyze, and report on statistical Pari-Mutuel, Gaming, and Food and Beverage trends, as well as provide a comprehensive summary and analysis on promotions, events, and entertainment. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead by example.Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.Responsible for the generation of periodic analytical reports to support premium/promotional days, weekly, monthly, and quarterly business operations.Perform comprehensive analysis of promotions, events, direct mail campaigns, and provide ongoing recommendations for improving database performance.Track and record daily Pari-Mutuel, Card Casino, Food and Beverage, attendance, FTE, and other data points for daily reporting.Perform daily escrow analysis for Pari-Mutuel operations and related remittances.Oversee the collection and reporting of all Source Market Fees that result from Canterbury Park's contracts with various Advance Deposit Wagering companies.Work to ensure that all Pari-Mutuel reporting is completed and accurate on a daily basis.Evaluate and analyze processes and procedures to improve efficiency of all operations.Analyze data to identify trends for use in budgets and forecasts.Responsible for user support on various business application solutions.Conduct demographic analysis to understand market changes and make recommendations based upon analysis.Develop and prepare ad hoc financial and business analytics on numerous revenue and expense areas, return on investment analysis, and other projects as requested.Assist in developing quarterly forecasts.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field is required.Basic understanding of accounting processes and principles, including GAAP.Strong Microsoft Office skills required; intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.Proven data analysis skills.Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong desire to evaluate data at a granular level and problem solve.Strong organizational, planning, public and interpersonal relations skills.A self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environmentCommitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.Must be able to pass a background check, work history verification, and obtain and maintain a license from the Minnesota Racing Commission.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the Gaming or Hospitality industry.Certified Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis or other professional finance designation.Experience with Bally Casino Market Place or United Tote.Experience with the budgeting and/or forecasting process.Experience creating reports and dashboards using Tableau or similar analytical reporting tool.Experience writing and executing SQL queries.Two years of relevant Financial Planning & Analysis experience preferred.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
