Collections Associate

PeopleShare is currently hiring a Medical Collections Specialist for a well-established company with over 25 years of success in the medical collections industry. Medical Collections Specialist

• Manage and follow up on outstanding patient accounts to ensure timely collections
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, and mail regarding past-due balances and payment arrangements
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships while showing empathy and understanding
• Review and resolve payer denials and billing discrepancies accurately and efficiently
• Document all account activity and communications within the billing system
• Collaborate with internal billing and customer service teams to ensure account accuracy
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Meet or exceed daily and monthly collection goals

• 1-2 years of collections experience (first- or third-party)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and resolve payment-related concerns
• Knowledge of medical billing terminology (co-pays, deductibles, etc.) is a plus
• Experience reviewing and resolving payer denials preferred
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
• High school diploma or equivalent required

• $20/hour during contract period
• Upon permanent hire: eligibility for commission and bonuses, with first-year earning potential of $50,000-$60,000
