This 5-month contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and analyzing financial data. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while collaborating with team members to support month-end close and ongoing accounting operations. - Prepare financial documents including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, budgets, and payroll-related accounting.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Complete month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Post journal entries to the general ledger and analyze budget variances.
- Review variance explanation reports for accuracy and forecast changes impacting the business.
- Track accounts receivable and ensure payments are properly recorded.
- Research and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies.
- Evaluate billing and invoicing data and process cash applications.
- Assist with accounting system enhancements and educate team members on process changes.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and support business decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- 2-5 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports.
- Strong account reconciliation and variance analysis experience.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, billing, and cash applications.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting accounting system conversions or enhancements.
- Experience working in a corporate or commercial real estate environment.
- Forecasting and budgeting experience.
- Experience explaining financial information to business partners.
