Director, Medical Affairs Research

Director-level role leading integrated evidence planning across Gilead's late-phase research portfolio spanning multiple therapeutic areas. This cross-functional position requires strategic oversight of research strategy development, operational execution, and stakeholder alignment to support global asset development.
Responsibilities
- Drive execution of Integrated Evidence Plans across therapeutic areas including HIV, liver diseases, inflammation, and oncology
- Lead large cross-functional workshops to build alignment and translate diverse perspectives into actionable outcomes
- Establish milestones, deliverables, ownership, dependencies, and decision points for research activities
- Build partnerships across Medical Affairs Research, Development, Commercial, and senior management stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements in evidence planning across the portfolio
Requirements
- BS/BA in life sciences plus 12+ years experience, or MS in life sciences plus 10+ years, or PhD/PharmD plus 8+ years
- Demonstrated facilitation experience required; formal certification strongly preferred
- Experience supporting integrated evidence planning execution and clinical research operations
- Strong program and project leadership capabilities
- Understanding of research governance, quality, compliance, legal, and regulatory considerations
- Process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies experience
- Ability to work globally across time zones and travel as needed
