Job Description
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by managing a high volume of inbound calls and supporting patient scheduling and communication needs. This role serves as a key point of contact between patients, providers, and internal departments to ensure accurate appointment management and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer 60–80 inbound calls per day from patients, vendors, insurance companies, and medical facilities.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service by greeting, listening, assisting, and closing each call effectively.
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments via phone, SMS, and patient portal per clinic protocols.
- Screen and route calls appropriately to ensure accurate registration and appointment follow‑up in the EMR.
- Document clear and accurate messages using internal communication templates.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal departments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of programs and services.
- Meet department productivity and quality assurance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years experience in customer service, call center, or healthcare setting.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to type 35 WPM with 90% accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑call‑volume environment.
Schedule & Work Requirements
- 100% onsite
- Monday - Friday 10am - 6:00pm PST
- During training, must match trainer schedule (historically 8:00/8:30 AM – 5:00 PM )

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
