This full-time position, offering a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, is primarily remote but may involve occasional visits to our outpatient office. Work Environment

In the role of Mental Health Therapist, you will thrive in a supportive and collaborative outpatient setting. Our practice operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, providing you flexibility to adapt your schedule around patient needs. The remote nature of this position allows for a balanced work-life dynamic while still ensuring direct contact with our vibrant patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that honor the diverse backgrounds of patients, allowing for tailored treatment planning.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions that reflect patients' cultural and personal contexts during both individual and group therapy sessions.
• Facilitate individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy sessions, focusing on mental health issues and resilience development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists and psychologists to provide comprehensive care and ensure shared treatment strategies.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available community resources, and effective treatment options.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal standards and institutional policies.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing cultural competence training.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment, with a focus on culturally informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds and communities often underserved in traditional mental health contexts. This includes ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those navigating the challenges of immigration. Your expertise will play a crucial role in fostering inclusivity and enhancing the overall well-being of our patients.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist in the state of Virginia.
• A solid foundation in mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies, particularly within culturally diverse contexts.
• Experience delivering both individual and group therapy in a culturally responsive manner.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities, with a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of individuals.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools necessary for patient management.
• A strong commitment to ethical practice and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, promoting collaboration to optimize patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with community resources and support services tailored to culturally diverse groups.
• Previous involvement in program development or leadership within mental health services is advantageous.
