About the Position

Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Night shift. Minimum every other weekend required. Float within multiple intensive care units based on staffing needs and patient acuity.

Highlights:

• Float to a variety of critical care units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Work with diverse patient populations including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex critical care diagnoses
• EPIC charting system utilized across all units
• Float policy ensures assignment to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialized therapy services
• Travel nursing assignment with parking options available

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system required
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator management
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Two professional references required (one must be from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required prior to start date
