Project Engineer

Project EngineerAECOM is seeking a Project Engineer for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA. This role plays a key role in advancing the California High-Speed Rail program by providing technical guidance on design and construction activities. This position supports project delivery through design review, field engineering, and coordination with contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.Minimum requirements:BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California, or the ability to take the exam as soon as practical.Preferred requirements:Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineMinimum of 5 years of progressively responsible engineering experience on major transportation or infrastructure projects, with emphasis on design review and construction supportDemonstrated knowledge of engineering standards, construction methods, and project delivery for large-scale transportation or rail projectsStrong technical writing and communication skills for coordination across multidisciplinary teamsExperience with high-speed rail, commuter rail, or other complex rail transit projectsExperience working on federally and state-funded transportation projectsFamiliarity with Caltrans, FRA, and CPUC standards and requirementsProject Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirableAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
