HR Coordinator

$27 - $30 per hour

Position Overview This is a temporary position. Extension or conversion to a regular role may be considered based on business need and performance, but there is no guarantee of permanent employment. This position provides administrative support to the HR Team acting as a liaison to management and employees, coordinating special projects to ensure efficient and professional operations. It requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to maintain effective relationships at all employee levels. Job Responsibilities Perform a variety of administrative, HR, and office support functions under limited supervision. Assist the recruiter with onboarding of new hires and temporary agency employees: prepare and distribute new‑hire packets, submit background checks, schedule drug screenings, process paperwork, and coordinate with hiring managers. Prepare, process, and distribute confidential documents such as vehicle allowances, employment verifications, subpoenas, correspondence, reports, procedures, and policies. Enter new hire/rehire information into the E‑Verify system and follow up on employment‑eligibility issues. Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected, filed, and archived, including terminated‑employee files. Schedule and coordinate meetings, including invites, agendas, materials, refreshments, and minutes. Serve as the point person for telephone, mail, and in‑person inquiries, ensuring prompt and satisfactory customer service. Code, process, and track expenses/invoices for accurate accounting and budgeting. Review invoices and charges to verify vendor service agreements and accuracy prior to payment; code HR department invoices. Actively support Teichert’s strategic plan and business‑unit goals. Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff. Education, Experience & Qualifications High‑school diploma required. At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources department or equivalent combination of training and experience. 3+ years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience. Prior experience in Human Resources is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Proven project‑management skills, high proficiency with MS Office and the ability to learn new software quickly; SharePoint and/or Bluebeam experience is a plus. Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work efficiently in a high‑production environment under pressure, changing priorities, and tight deadlines. Attention to detail, quick learning, and internal motivation to seek answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills. Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information to all employee levels. Good problem‑solving skills with a track record of providing creative solutions and follow‑through. Team player who operates effectively within a matrix management environment. Equipment and Physical Demands Equipment typically includes a laptop and telephone. Physical: Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision: Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperature, lighting, and low noise levels.
