Our client, a highly respected Italian restaurant brand with more than 30 years in business, is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef for its Carmel-by-the-Sea location. This is an opportunity for a strong kitchen leader to join an established team, develop staff, and grow with a company that continues to expand.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary of $80,000–$87,000

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise the back-of-house team during daily preparation and service
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation
• Coach and develop kitchen staff while supporting the team on the line when needed
• Enforce food safety and workplace safety procedures
• Partner with the Chef or Senior Sous Chef on inventory, scheduling, and kitchen administration

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of progressive Sous Chef or kitchen management experience
• Experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant generating $4 million or more in annual sales
• Proven ability to lead and develop a kitchen team
• ServSafe certification
• Availability to work on-site in Carmel-by-the-Sea
