Assistant Coach, Acrobatics & Tumbling

Position Description Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member ofthe Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seekingapplications for Acrobatics and Tumbling Assistant Coach. Thesuccessful candidate is responsible for all aspects in assisting acompetitive NCAA Division I Acrobatics and Tumbling program toinclude, but not limited to practice planning and execution, skilldevelopment, recruiting, scouting, video analysis, academicmonitoring, and student-athlete development. Additionalresponsibilities may include team travel coordination, equipmentmanagement, community engagement initiatives, and administrativesupport within the athletics department. Must be committed to andabide by the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC, and Manhattan UniversityDepartment of Intercollegiate Athletic policy and procedures andwill be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units. Job Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conductingdaily practices and training sessions Instruct and develop student-athletes in Acrobatics &Tumbling techniques, including tumbling, stunting, pyramids, andtoss events Assist in all aspects of recruiting, including identification,evaluation, communication, and campus visits of prospectivestudent-athletes Assist with meet preparation and execution, including lineupmanagement and competition strategy Coordinate team travel logistics, including itineraries,transportation, and accommodations Maintain compliance with NCAA and MAAC rules and regulations,including recruiting and eligibility standards Support team culture development, leadership initiatives, andstudent-athlete well-being Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, datamanagement, and equipment inventory Engage in community outreach and program promotion to enhancevisibility and support for the program Represent the program and University in a professional manner atall times Requirements Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred 1 year prior coaching experience Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and createpartnerships with a wide range of constituent groups Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations A working knowledge of computer programs and systems Possess a valid driver’s license Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends andholidays Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle of Higher Education
