University of Colorado Anschutz Department: Dermatology Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (PA/NP), Department of Dermatology - Instructor Position #:00848214 - Requisition #: 39922 Job Summary The Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its faculty at the level of Instructor to deliver care at its community practice sites. The APP will provide high-quality, patient-centered dermatologic care at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The ideal candidate will be experienced Dermatology provider delivering dermatologic care in an outpatient setting and have a passion for providing personalized, evidence-based patient care. The successful applicant will practice alongside skilled and knowledgeable dermatologists in our academic based clinics. Key Responsibilities Support all facets of clinical service to include the following: managing new and return patient visits, and coordination of care with providers within and outside the University setting. Diagnose and treat common acute, episodic, or chronic skin conditions. Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as needed. Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Coordinates care with collaborating physicians or specialist regarding patient care. Writes progress notes indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed; maintains other office and hospital records as required. Provide administrative support and thorough follow-up to ensure orderly, effective, and quality patient care. This may include the development and implementation of educational materials or protocols for staff and patients. The candidate will become proficient in the electronic medical record (EPIC) system and be able to chart, obtain data, and use all the communication tools. Notify the Medical Director and Clinic Manager regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or a graduate of an accredited program in Physician Assistant Studies. Current active license to practice in the state of Colorado as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant. Prescriptive authority in the State of Colorado is required. Certification from the NCCPA or ANCC or other comparable certification required Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in dermatology 2 or more years of relevant experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work both autonomously and in a team in outpatient settings. Ability to function both independently and in collaboration with other health care professionals. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding patient-facing skills. Anticipated Pay Range The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Instructor: $105,000 - $125,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
